TOPSoccer Program Receives Special Sponsorship: The Braden River Soccer Club would recognize the Dodt Family Foundation as a major sponsor for our TOPSoccer 2008 program.   The money from the Dodt Family Foundation is going specifically to help fund professional therapists to augment this special program each week.  We are grateful to the Dodt Family Foundation and thank them for their continued support in our local communities.

What Is TOPSoccer?

US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 4-19, who has a mental or physical disability.

How Is BRSC Getting Involved?

The Braden River Soccer Club has received a $1000 grant from the Manatee Community Foundation (Lakewood Ranch Community Fund) to help fund a TOPS program within our area.  Our goal is to enable the young athletes with disabilities in our community to become valued and successful members of the US YOUTH SOCCER family.

How Do I Register My Athlete?

Information about the 2008 registration season will be posted around December 2007.

How Much Does This Program Cost My Athlete?

The BRSC is pleased to offer this program for qualified athletes at NO CHARGE.  We are committed to finding methods to under-write this program via sponsorships, grant, and donations from the community in order to provide this athlete and parent or guardian an opportunity to enjoy the program.

What Ages Are Accepted:?

The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 4-19, who has a mental or physical disability.

How Can You Get Involved?

We have several volunteer positions that will be required to make this special program a success.  Please consider one of the following positions:

  • Buddies:  Our most important positions.  These individuals will be paired up 1:1 with our athletes as a soccer companion to assist where necessary (physical help and verbal support), as well as encouragement to have FUN.

  • Logistics / Administrative:  We need individuals who like to help with some of the behind-the-scenes work to help this program get off the ground and become a success.  Examples for this role may include:  Registration committee, follow-up phone calls, database entry, etc.

  • Sponsorship:  As with most community outreach program, we are looking for sponsorship assistance and welcome interested individuals or businesses to contact us to discuss some creative sponsorship opportunities.

If you are interested in joining our team please complete our Volunteer Form below.  For those families wishing to volunteer multiple people please complete one form per person so we can create an individual profile for them.  Thank You!
