High School Mentor Program
We have
registered our club for this volunteer program again. This year should
be more exciting than ever. As you can see by the attached game schedule
we have even more area High School Teams registered for our teams to
attend as volunteers. Your team has the opportunity to volunteer as
ball-boys/girls at the following High School Soccer games: Braden River
HS, Lakewood Ranch HS, Southeast HS, Saint Stephens Episcopal School,
Palmetto HS, Manatee HS, and Sarasota HS.
Take a look at the
attached schedule & find a game you would like your team to attend.
Email Dawn Tschiggfrie (dtschigg@tampabay.rr.com)
to Reserve your team’s spot. Hurry because games will be taken fast.
Don’t miss out
on this exciting experience for your team. It’s a fun night for the kids
and for their entire family!

The basic idea is for you to treat this as a team-building experience
for your team while letting them see a High School soccer game up close.
This should be an exciting experience for your players!
Here is a list of instructions:
-
Have your
players dress in uniform. Team T-shirts or team jackets are a good
alternative if you want. The idea is that they dress as a team to
represent BRSC. (They can play on the field during half-time, so you
may want them to wear their cleats.)
-
All players
get free admission to the game. (Only 1 team per game-night.)
Parents and/or siblings may have to pay admission.
-
Have a
roster with your team name/age group, and all player names printed
clearly for the announcer. Give this roster to the home team Head
Coach for pre-game announcements. If possible, the teams have agreed
to announce the player names and recognize their team as designated
ball-boys/girls for the evening.
Roster and instructions in PDF format.
-
Players
duties will include:
a. Retrieve balls behind goals during pre-game warm-ups.
b. Retrieve balls during game. (Position your players around the
entire field, and designate 1 player on each sideline to carry the
replacement ball. The other players will retrieve balls that go out
of bounds and return it to the sidelines. Your designated ball
carrier will give the ball to the teams on the field for throw-ins,
goal kicks, etc.)
c. At half-time, the players can play on the fields. You can
organize a small game, or just let them shoot on goal.
