2020-2021 Team Formation

BRSC will continue to plan and operate our player evaluation sessions for those that wish to tryout for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. Due to the limitations and unknown return to play dates we will adopt the following to give all players, current and new the opportunity to be part of the BRSC.

Current BRSC players will have registration priority for the 2020-21 season between May 15 - May 31st. Your place in the Club is guaranteed during this time.

New players seeking an evaluation to join BRSC will register for the Player evaluation sessions and tryout (DATES are TBD).

What does the Club Guarantee mean?
Open registration for all current members who intend to continue at the Club will be given a registration priority between May 15th - May 31st. This is our guarantee to you that you have a place in Braden River Soccer Club for the 2020-21 season.

But I want the opportunity to move up, how do I do that?
Our evaluation process for current players is a 10 month process. Between training, games, age group training, formal evaluations etc. our coaches and Directors have made the decision where to place you based on the four pillars of the game; Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological. At any time during the year players have the opportunity to move to different teams based on their ongoing evaluation.

As we hope to continue to train through the summer, we will be able to continue this evaluation and move current players to teams. This will be a private conversation between the Coach, Director of Coaching and the Family.

When are the New Player Evaluation Sessions?
Player evaluation sessions are for prospective new players who wish to join Braden River Soccer Club. The sessions will occur when we are able to begin training (per the State of Florida and our Soccer Associations and governing bodies). We intend to give prospective players ample opportunity throughout the summer and pre-season to be evaluated thoroughly and placed on a Team.

Player Placement & Player Evaluation Sessions
We believe in a year-round, ongoing evaluation process for our players that is comprehensive. The process relies on a number of tools to evaluate a player to ensure each player is placed appropriately based on his or her tactical, technical, physical and psycho-social development.

These evaluation tools include:

  • Age Group Trainings & Team Trainings
  • Player Evaluations
  • New Team Environment – Club Pass Playing/Training
  • Tournament participation
  • Coach and Director Evaluation and Feedback

Using this information we are able to assess our current players and make determinations on placement. Having said that…the team formation process during the tryout period is affected by two factors: players leaving the team and new players attending the evaluation sessions.

Player Evaluation Sessions (aka tryouts) for New Players
Although we use a year-round player placement process to evaluate current players within Braden River Soccer Club, we will continue to hold evaluation sessions to evaluate prospective players from outside of the club. During these sessions, we look for very specific qualities in each player to ensure they are a good fit for our club and team culture and training methodology we use here at BRSC.

During Player Evaluation Sessions we use current Braden River Soccer Club players and teams to help gauge where an prospective player may fit within the structure of our club. We feel confident in this process to place players in the appropriate team to help reduce the stress, anxiety, and difficulties surrounding the tryout event for players and parents.
