FALL 2011 RECREATIONAL PROGRAM

VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES

DESCRIPTION

Coach

Lead assigned team through the season, focusing on fun, sportsmanship, and basic technical skill development; equipment (bag, balls, cones, stopwatch or keeper jersey) and coaching manuals including age-appropriate practice session plans will be provided to all coaches.

Assistant Coach

Assist the Coach in their responsibilities at practices and on game days, filling in where needed. Assumes the role of Coach in case a volunteer cannot be found. Assistant Coaches are encouraged to attend all training sessions.

Sponsor

Provide individual or corporate sponsorship to chosen team, available at different levels (see separate Sponsor flyer) starting at $250 (name on uniform jersey, appreciation plaque, web page recognition/ link)

Trophy Committee

Provides support to the rec program volunteers to pick-up, organize and /or distribute end of season trophies.

Team Manager

Coordinate communications between the Club, coaches and parents, including assigning snack schedule, distributing uniforms, photos, making phone calls if practice is rained out, etc.

Uniform Committee

Assist in distribution of uniforms at Team Managers meeting, and help tabulate information for additional uniform orders as needed

Registration Committee

Assist in-person registration sessions in June and August for Fall and in December for Spring.

Concession Stand

Staff’s the Club concession stand during game days, which might occur during one of your child’s games, to serve food, operate cash register, and clean and stock kitchen. These volunteers may be used between Sept-Dec as well as during the Halloween Havoc for competitive teams.

Field Marshal

Fill in several shifts patrolling the fields during game days, which might occur during one of your child’s games, to make sure significant issues are addressed, such as injuries or inappropriate behavior by parents, coaches, players, referees

Family Opt-Out ($35)

In lieu of providing up to 4 hours of volunteer time, parents may choose to spend $35 to waive all volunteer requirements for the family.
